On the global warming article, I would suggest that the important message is the fact the proposed solutions could be more catastrophic than the alledged problem. My fear is that we go off half cocked trying to solve a problem that isn't real, and end up doing far more damage. Our goal should be to lighten our impact on the environment as much as possible. The planet may or not be warming, but we sure are polluting the hell out of it...

Your right to my opinion

Dude,

It's very difficult to watch what you say and put the politically correct spin on all your opinions. Truth is that most Bloggers are actually just writing for themselves and their content is not only irrelevant but it clogs the arteries of the web. Let the World of public opinion decide whose voice should be read and stop making these folks more marketable through useless debate. Is it real or a hoax? We'll never know, actually. The earth is an amazing object; isn't it just plain attempting to readjust itself, trying to right itself, trying to heal itself of all the damage several thousand years of humanity has done (in the name of survival)? There are ebbs and flows to everything, earth included. Pendulums swinging back and forth in equal and opposite actions and reactions. Hmmm, I seem to remember learning something along those lines in science class, fourth grade wasn't it?

Your right to my opinion

Will, the YTMND link appears to have been hijacked and is now definitely NSFW.

Your right to my opinion

Will,

Since then, we have watched a lot of TV shows like Medium and Lost online on the LCD TV. Quality is almost as good as cable, I get to watch at my leisure, and for the NBC shows at least, they sneak in a few commercials. (Which I don't mind since there are only one or two per break) The networks should continue to push in this direction.

I would also add that with Tivo, we skip past the commercials. With the online stream, it doesn't bother me since the break is so short, therefore I end up watching them.

Your right to my opinion

I think John Doe's comment regarding "ho" is in reference to the backhoe row section: the sentence later calls it a "back ho". Global warming should be able to be deduced from the past climate record shown in trees and ice cores. Models are just guesses, but there is little talk about how reliable these models are to predict past events. In other words, how stringently have the models been checked to "predict" drought in the Dust Bowl years for past data?

And, the earth is not alive. So, suggesting that it is trying to fix things is touchy feely claptrap. The planet will, hopefully, reach another equilibrium. There is no evidence that this planet prefers having life and conditions that promote life over being rather inhospitable to life as we know it.

That's an excavator; a nice, Hitachi, excavator at that. A backhoe wouldn't do so well because they are a hoe attached to the back of some form of tractor or loader and could not rotate the bucket in an arch greater than 180 degrees (or 90 degrees on each side of center) while an excavator can do 360 - and do 360 very quickly.

Your right to my opinion

Seems like the US Mint may want my pennies back!
