Mark Blumenthal at Pollster.com did a whole two-part explanation of how this affects pollsters and what they are doing about it. Long and short of it is, once a poll is weighted (by age among other things) there isn't much difference between those with/without landlines.

What could be an issue in polling is that there is a major difference between cell-only and landline as to whether they are registered to vote or not. And we also have one candidate this year who's building a massive voter-registration drive through text-messaging. If it turns out the polls were underestimated, my money is on this as the reason.

*snort* Thanks for the Obama G-mail link. I love the MoveOn one re: MoveOn. Somehow or other I wound up on their mailing list a few years ago and I can't for the life of me get them to leave me alone.
Also yes...the alligator looks very pleased with himself.

I've been on Facebook since Indiana State joined--which was relatively early on in the game. Every time they change the layout people throw a hissy fit and stage "protests."

It's stupid. I've been asked to join three groups and attend one "event" to "force" FB to change back.
