WWII posters: I had to giggle that such things as careless driving were portrayed as helping the enemy, because it reminds me of my Catholic grade school days; e.g. "When you sass your mom, you're driving a nail into Jesus' hand."

As far as Obama goes he said "The same way the computer was originally invented by a bunch of government scientists who were trying to figure out, for defense purposes, how to communicate"

Actually the first computer (ENIAC) was invented by the military to calculate trajectories of artillery. So I guess if you write a sweet message on the artillery shell it is communication. Getting computers to communicate to each other did not come till much later (after all Al Gore is the guy that did that).

I know this is not a link to some blog that is outraged at the statement but it is related to computers and the internet, and thus clicking.

Steve, that's Cockney Rhyming Slang for "lies." Pork pies = lies. I've heard British folks use the phrase "telling porkies" by which they mean "pork pies" by which they mean "lies."
