I've gotten a few of the commentaries and the Phantom Menace one is a real hoot. Everything that was wrong with that movie is mercilessly lampooned. As a helpful tip for people who might want to try them, get the commentaries done by 2 of the team, the ones done by Mike alone are a bit weird to listen to because he seems to be talking to you... but he isn't. If that makes any sense.

The ads among us

Dear Will,

I spent an entire night putting up just my fiction books on it, but now use it for everything, recommending books, keeping track of which books are lent out (using the tag "borrowed", e.g.) and especially for book suggestions.
By the way, the Un-Suggester works by finding people who don't have your book in their library, though what it does next I don't know.

The ads among us

Will --

I agree. The chief problem is all the hand-wringing and fear-mongering that erupts whenever a Muslim is involved in any act that might potentially be deemed "terrorist" but is most often simply a crime.

Secondarily, of course, I also think that domestic terrorists like this deserve at least some attention, since the record demonstrates that they are more of a consistent threat than Al Qaeda.

What cases like these demonstrate is the extraordinary blind spot -- induced by an absurd, and frankly racist, double standard -- that is in place in the media regarding domestic terrorism.

The ads among us

"Map of the Star Trek Federation - Kind of hard to read.
