Buzzword alert: De-portalization
De-portalization and Internet revenues
Platforms are the new portals
What the heck is a portal?

I just learned 33 things today. One thing I am surprised I didn't see was the name of the little fabric-covered button on the top of a baseball cap. I think it is called, what sounds like "shvengay," but not even Google knows.

Any portal is a storm

FYI the 'Lifestyles of the Rich and Fasicst' is not really safe for work

Any portal is a storm

I think you can think of the de-portalization as being the difference between your blog (an aggregator of links) and Digg/Netscape/etc which is an aggregation of the many. The issue is over who controls the content. You Tube and the like do not control the content, unlike portals.

Any portal is a storm

Ben, I considered putting a NOTE on there, and I realize they're bare breasted virgins meant to tempt the king, but ... and maybe I'm being Westernist here ... I just don't think "porn" when I see that photo and I felt funny making a big deal of it. Do you think I should just have a flat rule that says all boobies get "the NOTE"?

Any portal is a storm

Christmas 2.0 videos definitely not safe for work.

Any portal is a storm

Different "kinds" of alcohol, ie. different alcoholic beverages, do produce different effects, but very little of that has to do with anything in them besides the alcohol. The congeners (impurities) have more to do with the quality of the hang over than of the high. The effects of alcohol, and other drugs, is highly dependent on "set and setting", that is, mind set (expectations) and environment. The quality of the effects will be mediated by these. If you drink amoretto, you have the mind set of being gentile. And you don't often drink amoretto at the ball park. The literature on experiments on this abound with results showing different effects from the same substance based solely on what the person expected, or was told to expect. No word yet on whether drinking a certain kind of rum does in fact make you stand on one leg. If it does, out the window goes the field sobriety test.

I didn't spot any real-person sexual content, but talking sex toys is probably not what you want your boss seeing over your shoulder.
