I do not think anyone sees glory in real death. Most people recognize that war and killing is a sad business and hopefully a last resort. Executions, whether you buy into the reason, are not something that entertains, as we do all understand that it is a real life being taken. Executions are also a very humbling, given that there is no "fog of war" - it is methodical and plodding and very personal (unlike shooting guns from a distance for example). I feel that is the ultimate invasion of privacy.
