In fact, in my head I'd planned to pair it with a (new) link about a new proposed bridge in Dubai with big arches but I couldn't find the bridge link this morning and didn't want to hold up publishing for it so I just posted the older link.

Got a license for that spoon?

Regarding images in toast - check this out: http://www.worldwidefred.com/holytoast.htm

Got a license for that spoon?

Will, I hate to break it to you, but Spore is never coming out. It just isn't. They have been making that game for like 20 years or something. Seriously though, I heard about this game at least 2-3 years ago, watched a video of what they already had done, and I've been waiting for it ever since. But it's not actually coming out, at least not in September. Well, maybe September 5, 10, or 15 years from now, but that's the closest we are ever going to get. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the only thing they have ever done with this game is make the video that I watched. September 2008 is a lie. Spore DNE (does not exist).

Oh, and I'm not really sure what to think about that "Things White People Like" website. I'm guessing it’s supposed to be more tongue in cheek than anything (I only read a few of the entries, though I skimmed them all). Some of them were... strange... (White people like to pass because of slavery?) though I guess I must admit I do know white people who do like many of the things on the list that I don't. The funniest part was that I got to the last page just as I was finishing my 'bean brew'...
Got a license for that spoon?

The best part about Spore is that in fact the gameplay is like a lot of things you've already played. It breaks down into a bunch of different games really. You have Cell, a Pac-Man inspired game taking place on single cell level. There is Creature, similar to the other Will Wright game "The Sims" you take a creature of your own design out into the world. You move up from there to Village where you have a bunch of copies of your creature and try to make a town out of it. Move up another level and you have Civilation level and you exand your Village out and try to take over the planet. The final piece is Space, where you create your own Spaceship(the demo I saw had a Unicorn shapped ship) out into the galaxy and see other people's planets and maybe try to conquer them.

September can't come to soon. Your comrade blogger from Newsweek N'Gai Croal (www.newsweek.com/blogs/levelup/) has had some exclusives on the content this week. Also MTV's video game blog Multiplayer (multiplayer.mtv.com) has a few items. The most exciting aspects of the game to me are:
1. The content will be instantly uploadable to sites like YouTube and Facebook.
2. It doesn't force you to start at the cell level and crawl your way into Space. You can just hang out in the Civilation level, or the Creature level. Whatever your interests are this game has a component for you.
